Supporting the Geek Bank
To keep our community thriving, all Geek Bank events are hosted on Meetup.com. To help cover the annual platform running costs, we run two optional donation drives each year—in January and July—when our subscription fees are due.
How Contributions Work & Supporter Perks
Supporting the group financially is completely voluntary.
As a thank-you, all supporters receive access to our official Digital Membership Card.
Presenting your digital card at our local partner spaces unlocks special discounts and perks!
Please Note Regarding Partner Perks:
Discounts and perks are offered at the sole discretion of our partner businesses. They are subject to change, availability, or revocation by the venue at any time.
How to Chip In
Online payments are coming soon with Stripe! In the meantime, if you would like to help cover our upcoming platform costs speak to an organiser at any of our meetups.
They will share our bank transfer details and make sure you receive your Digital Membership Card and proper thanks from all of us at The Geek Bank!
Existing Founding Members will automatically continue to receive their Supporter thank-you perks for the remainder of their year.
Where does excess money go?
We run the Geek Bank on a non-profit, volunteer basis. Every penny collected goes directly into maintaining our community platforms (Meetup.com and website costs).
Any funds collected above our basic running costs are kept in a community safety buffer for future platform fees or reinvested directly back into the group—such hosting special events, supplying food and drinks, member freebies and promotional materials.
No organiser or individual profits from member donations.
The group is a non-profit.Funds are held exclusively for the benefit of the group and its activities. In the event the group ever dissolves, remaining funds will be donated to another non-profit or shared appropriately among community causes.
